Who are we?
Ivo Mertens has spent most of his professional life in dealing rooms of large international banks. He started in 1998 at Sumitomo Bank as Corporate Dealer. At the end of that year, he moved to Generale Bank, which later became Fortis Bank. Over there he moved up the ranks from Corporate Dealer, to European Head of Corporate Sales. In 2006, he left Fortis Bank to take the lead of the Benelux Corporate Sales team at BNP Paribas. He continued that role after BNPP acquired Fortis Bank. At BNPP (Fortis), he later became Head of Sales for all client groups in Belgium and The Netherlands. At the start of 2018, he founded MRM Advisory. In this new venture, he seeks to deploy the experience and know-how he gained during his years in the investment banking industry to the benefit of various clients, including SME’s, large corporates, financial institutions and family offices.
